About us

Hi, my name is Emma Plant and welcome to my Veterinary Hospital!

Here we have a fully dedicated team of experienced veterinary practitioners, nurses and support staff. Together we offer an appointment based, six days a week service: as well as a 24-hour emergency service. All staff are registered with the Veterinary Council Ireland and we are proud to be a VCI accredited hospital, this is the highest status that can be awarded to a Veterinary Practice in Ireland.

We are constantly striving to develop our professional skills. Whether it’s the latest surgical techniques or mastering the art of Zoom! We have state of the art equipment, including in-house blood analysis, ultrasound and digital x-ray. All this means faster diagnosis and treatment for your pet!

Our goal is always to make you and your pet’s experience as pleasant as possible, right from the moment you contact us.

Once you step into the practice, we aim to create a positive and friendly atmosphere for all our visitors. We have created designated Dog and Cat waiting rooms. This division is maintained throughout the practice; with separate treatment and recovery rooms to avoid any unpleasant interactions. This minimises the stress on our patients, especially for animals who aren’t used to other species, leading to more relaxed and worry-free visits.

Even, as we are looking after your pet, the practice itself is working to do its own bit to protect the environment. From selecting our lighting to maximise energy conservation, to our 5-star bespoke insect hotel, we are pro-actively and fundamentally environmentally conscious. We have our water collecting butts, our blooming gardens (giving us lovely fresh oxygen!), a composting area, fruit trees and bird feeding tables, all on site. In the hospital, we try to source eco-friendly gloves and plastic ware. In the meantime, we are constantly recycling everything possible.

For appointments, whether they be routine check-ups and vaccinations, or if your pet is feeling poorly, you can always speak to a member of our team by calling 043 33 36456. Outside of normal business hours, we are always available to help you and your pet deal with any emergencies, at these hours we can be reached on 043 33 57301.

New faces are always welcome!

Very soon, you will also be able to make bookings via the website, making the process easy and convenient for busy lives.

Our staff behind the scenes

Behind the scenes, we have a veritable beehive of busy people who, working together, ensure the practice runs smoothly on a daily basis! They are the people you as a customer do not often get to see; these include-

– Cleaning & Hygiene team – the magic cleaning fairy who comes in every evening after the doors are closed and transforms the place back to its sparkly self! They make sure we are ready to go for night emergencies and to open the doors the next day!

– Accounts & Admin – with bookkeeping and serious things like VAT and tax; if we didn’t have someone to manage this end of the business, it would be a very long day!

– Gardening and Maintenance – you only have to look around or pick some lavender to appreciate all the hard work that goes into making our Vet Hospital a home for all in the ecological family.
